Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrested

LAHORE: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was arrested from Lahore toll plaza on Thursday.
According to details, the former prime minister was arrested by NAB personnel at the toll plaza in Thokar Niaz Beg.
Abbasi was on his way to attend a press conference by former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif. Former foreign minister Ahsan Iqbal was with Abbasi when he was arrested.
According to Geo News Lahore bureau chief, the former prime minister was arrested as he was wanted in the LNG case.
Former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair said that Abbasi had not been arrested because he was not attending court proceedings.
“Will the looted money return to the country this way?” asked Zubair.
