LONDON: A British-Pakistani entrepreneur has been appointed High Sheriff for Surrey for 2020 – a direct servant to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Shahid Azeem will serve in the honorary position for the county of Surrey which has a population of 1.4 million, located about 20 miles out of London.

Prior to this, Azeem had also run a football club after having left school without a single curricular qualification. His father worked at British Rail as a porter and family lived in a 2 bedroom shared with others in Guildford.

Subsequent to expulsion at 12, Azeem faced bullying and racism but went on from doing menial jobs to establishing his own IT giant Company.
