Ban on home-cooked food for Nawaz an ‘inhumane’ act: Shehbaz Sharif
LAHORE: The Sharif family has expressed mistrust in the food being provided to disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif by the authorities in Kot Lakhpat jail.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said the government is showing its level of inhumanity by barring Nawaz from having homemade food.
He stressed that Nawaz is a heart patient and needs homemade food to control his health, stating which, he warned that prime minister Imran Khan will be responsible.
“Nawaz is a three-time elected prime minister of this country and this attitude towards him is inhumane. Nawaz should immediately be provided home-cooked meals,” he added.
Nawaz’s daughter Maryam Safdar also warned that she will go on a hunger strike if Nawaz Sharif will be deprived of homecooked meals.
“Not only will I move the Lahore High Court, but I will also stage a protest outside the prison if the ban on homemade food is not lifted within 24 hours.”
“I do not trust the food provided to Nawaz by the jail authorities they can mix anything in his food,” she said.
