Zardari alleges government of blackmailing NAB chairman
ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman has alleged that the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is being blackmailed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government.
Speaking to reporters, the former president was asked if he had any reservations with the government over the appointment of NAB Deputy Chairman Hussain Asghar as the head of the ‘commission of inquiry’.
To this, the PPP co-chairman said he would have reservations at anyone from top to bottom.
He added that the political forces have to unite to drive the incumbent leadership out of power, adding that if the political forces will refrain, other forces will have to force an ouster.
Zardari, already having served 11 years in jail, said his hopes were high despite being behind bars.
