PM, President lead congratulations after Pakistan stun England

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan put up a stellar performance on Monday to beat favorite England in a match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Pakistan broke a streak of 11 ODI losses after being bundled out for their second-lowest total in ODIs against West Indies.
They posted their second-highest World Cup total of 348/8 and were backed by good bowling efforts to seal the win.
Joe Root and Jos Buttler made brisk hundreds in the chase, but the hosts fell short of 14 runs to concede their first defeat while chasing in four years.
Twitter was flooded with congratulatory messages from politicians, cricket fraternity and showbiz figures.
In a message on Twitter, Imran Khan said that it was a great win considering Pakistan’s poor start in the warm up matches and the first match against West Indies.
“You have the talent, all you need is the self belief that you can go all the way,” PM Khan said.
“Congratulations to the Pakistan cricket team for a great win and for coming back into form after a poor start in the warm up matches and the first WC match. You have the talent, all you need is the self belief that you can go all the way,” the premier said.

Volatility at it’s best. Pakistan cricket ‘s unpredictability at it’s best. Completely down one match, and on top the next. Great win today for Pakistan, and an exciting match in this World cup finally. Well done #ENGvPAK
