Opposition APC declares PTI govt a security risk, warns against violent revolution
ISLAMABAD: A multi-party conference of several opposition groups declared that the PTI government was a national security risk due to its “disastrous policies and incompetence.”
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, his niece Maryam Nawaz, former PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, ANP’s Asfandyar Wali Khan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Aftab Sherpao attended the conference that was hosted by JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday.
“The PTI government has become a threat to the national integrity, sovereignty and interests due to its incompetence,” a declaration issued by the conference said.
The poor are facing the brunt of government’s disastrous policies, it said and warned that the current political situation could spark a violent revolution.
The APC also accused Imran Khan government of protecting the interests of foreign elements. “It has become a huge security risk,” it said.
Quoting sources, Geo reported that both the PPP and PML-N did not endorse Maulana Fazl’s recommendation to resign from assemblies.
The two parties maintained that parliament was the best forum to raise their voice.
