Item numbers are filth: Hamza Ali Abbasi schools girl on dance show
Pakistani actor and model Hamza Ali Abbasi schooled a girl on a dance show, telling her that item numbers are ‘filth’ that even India was tired of.
Hamza Ali Abbasi is known for his rants and controversial tweets. The actor is one of the judges on a dance show on Bol channel.
On the judges panel with Kubra Khan and Javed Shaikh, Hamza schooled a girl for dancing to an item song.
“Please don’t do item songs,” he said. “It is utter filth that even India is trying to get rid of,” he added.
Hamza apologised to the girl for the fact that he was a member of the film fraternity.
“I’m a supari, chew me. I’m a billi, I’ll scratch you,” he said. “This is disgusting. Promise me now you won’t ever dance to an item song,” he told the girl.
Hamza criticised even directors and said that they have this ‘keera’ to place item songs in movies.
This is not the first time that the actor has spoken out against item songs. A couple of years ago, Hamza called out directors for including item songs in their movies.
“How can the censor board allow such filth to run in cinemas and how can PEMRA allow this to be run on channels? Pakistani artists finally managed to get enough respect in the society that now young educated boys and girls from good families are coming into this field, please don’t spoil this hard earned respect by putting on a flesh show and calling it glamour!!! Item songs degrade women and objectify them….which goes against the essence of Women’s Empowerment and Women’s Rights, our religion and our norms,” he had written in a Facebook post in 2017.
