“PM’s panicked midnight address to the nation. Fearing he’ll be unable to pass PTIMF budget & his government will fall. Coercion will not work. No one with a conscious could vote to increase taxes, inflation & unemployment. This budget is economic suicide we can NOT let it pass,” he said.

The PPP chairman was referring to the first budget passed by the PTI-led government on Tuesday and the prime minister’s subsequent address to the nation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the opposition on Tuesday that he was coming after them for money laundering and mega corruption.

“Pakistan has stabilized now. The pressure on me has declined,” said Prime Minister Khan in his address to the nation. “I’m telling the nation now—I’m coming after all those who did corruption,” he added.

Khan said that he would be constituting a commission which would investigate money laundering and corruption of the past leaders.

“They have been holding me and the government accountable. Now, I’m going to hold you accountable,” he said. “I’m announcing the formation of a high powered commission which will investigate the corruption that has taken place in the past 10 years,” he added.
