ISLAMABAD: Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the youngest daughter of former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Monday said that arresting her father will not silence the voice of truth, assuring that he will be vindicated again.

“This cowardly selected government thinks throwing opposition into jail will legitimise it. No case, no conviction, no plausible cause”, she wrote in a series of tweet.

She went on to say, “Arresting Asif Ali Zardari will not silence the voice of truth. He was vindicated before and he will be vindicated again.”

Aseefa added “Curious how Federal Ministers knew about the arrest days and months before the court’s decision. How arrest warrants were issued before bail was cancelled.”

“We are not afraid of the jails, do try it, she commented on the PPP tweet which carried a video of Asif Ali Zardari departing with NAB after arrest warrants were issued against him earlier today.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday arrived at Zardari House to arrest Pakistan People’s Party chief Asif Ali Zardari in connection with fake bank accounts case.

The decision came on the day the Islamabad High Court rejected the fifth extension in the pre-arrest bail of the sibling duo Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur.

Zardari’s daughter Aseefa Bhutto Zardari had accompanied him to the court amid tight security while PPP workers also gathered close to the court as prisoner vans were also brought to the site.
