Senior Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik smashed his stumps during the fourth ODI between England and Pakistan at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Friday.

Just three overs to go in the fourth one-day, Malik tried to play the square cut off a Mark Wood slow delivery but ended up smashing stumps.

The bizarre wicket at a crucial time of the game proved too costly in the end as England beat Pakistan by 3 wickets in the final over.

Pakistan managed only 24 runs in the remaining 20 balls after Malik lost his wicket.

Chasing down 341 to win, England had a mid-innings wobble, but in the end their solid start made sure they won their third consecutive high-scoring game against Pakistan.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have much to ponder after their bowlers continued to falter at crucial stages while fielding has been below par.

Pakistan still has a match to go before they start their World Cup campaign. Pakistan must be hoping that they find the best bowling combination that could challenge the opposition sides on good batting tracks.
