The Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming World Cup was announced and opener Abid Ali, who proved himself in the last series, was left out, leaving Twitter angry.

Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur, Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed have reportedly decided to include batsman Asif Ali and pacer Mohammad Amir in the squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.

According to report, it has been decided that Asif Ali to replace newly selected opener Abid Ali while Mohammad Amir in place of all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.

On March 29, Abid Ali made his ODI debut against Australia in the UAE and scored a sensational century.

Twitter was excited after the opener was selected for the World Cup squad. However, owing to Asif Ali’s performance in the recent ODI series against England, the pinch-hitter waws included in the team in place of Abid Ali.

This did not go down well with Twitter.

Pakistan play their first match against the West Indies on May 31.
