Three Pakistani troops martyred in cross-border terrorist attack
RAWALPINDI: Three soldiers embraced martyrdom and seven others were wounded when terrorists crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan and attacked Pakistani border forces.
The attack took place in Awara, North Waziristan at a time when Pakistani troops were fencing the border.
According to a statement issued by the IPSR, media wing of Pakistan army, around 60 to 70 terrorists, from across the border, attacked the security forces, resulting in death of Lance Naik Ali, Lance Naik Nazir, Sepoy Imdad Ullah.
Several terrorists were killed in retaliatory firing by the Pakistan Army, the statement added.
Border fencing to continue
According to the ISPR, Pakistan will continue to fence the border despite all obstacles.
“There is a need for Afghan security forces and officials to have effective control on their border. Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan,” the statement further said.
