Three security guard killed as terrorists storm Pearl Continental Hotel in Gwadar

GWADAR: Three to four men stormed the Pearl Continental Hotel in the city on Saturday, leaving three security guards killed.
Gwadar Station House Officer (SHO) Aslam Bangulzai said that three to four terrorists stormed the hotel at 04:40pm.
“Additional police force, Anti-Terrorism Force and Pakistan Army are handling the situation,” he said, speaking to media.
However, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Langove said that some people inside the hotel had been injured due to firing from the militants.
Both the SHO and IGP Mohsin Hassan Butt said that there were no foreigners in the hotel at the time of the attack. The IGP said that 95 percent of the hotel had been evacuated.
According to police, the militants must have come on a boat to launch the attack. Media channels reported that the area had been cordoned off and no one was allowed to enter the area.
Officials said that guards deployed at the hotel fired back, killing the attackers.
The Gwadar port region is the focal point of the multi-billion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which is part of China’s mammoth Belt and Road infrastructure project.
