PTI files petition challenging Maryam’s appointment as PML-N vice-president
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) today submitted a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan against PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz challenging her appointment as a vice-president of the party.
Parliamentary secretary Farrukh Habib, Maleeka Bokhari, Kanwal Shauzab and Javeria Zafar submitted the petition at ECP.
‘Maryam’s appointment as a PML-N vice-president is in contradiction with the constitution and law of the land’, PTI’s petition text stated.
In the light of the petition it was also stated that Maryam is ineligible to hold any political or public office.
It is important to mention here that following to a major reshuffle in the party last week, Maryam was designated as one of the 16 vice-presidents of the party along with Hamza Shehbaz.
