‘Politicians should refrain from monopolizing Islam,’ tweets Fawad Chaudhry

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry lashed out at the decision of Punjab Assembly after it passed a Bill for banning actors from Ramadan transmissions.
Fawad on his official Twitter handle posted “Totally agree politicians must not try to monopolize Islam.”
“You cannot pass moral judgments. every Muslim is good Muslim. Really hopeless conduct of Punjab Assembly”, minister added in his tweet.

Actors Collective Trust Pakistan posted a tweet mentioning that ” ACT does not approve of the discriminatory bill passed by Punjab Assembly on barring actors for Ramadan Transmissions. We protest it with PEMRA as well as Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.”

In the light of the bill, Punjab Assembly lawmaker Maulana Muhammad Muavia Azam proposed the bill banning actors in Ramadan transmissions which was later passed by the provincial assembly.
