PM Khan dials India’s Modi, seeks better ties

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan rang his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to congratulate him on the victory of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha elections.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, PM Khan expressed his desire for both countries to work together for the betterment of their peoples.

Imran Khan said he was looking forward to working with PM Modi for advancing these objectives.

In a Twitter statement on May 23, Imran Khan congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies.

Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia, he wrote.

Prime Minister Modi on Thursday led his Bharatiya Janata Party to a landmark victory for a second five-year term in office, winning 302 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
