Patients suffer due to OPD’s closure in province: Shaukat Yousufzai
PESHAWAR: Provincial Information minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yousufzai addressing the presser at Peshawar said that due to continuing protest and strike of doctors and para medical staff, patients are suffering the most.
Talking to the media persons, information minister said that the closure of OPD’s throughout the province has entered second day which is causing massive difficulties for the patients who are already admitted and those who are coming to get treatment.
According to details, doctors are boycotting the outpatient departments (OPD) at all government hospitals across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province since yesterday for registering their protest after the incident of manhandling and abusing associate professor Dr Ziauddin.
It must be mentioned here that yesterday Dr.Ziauddin of Khyber Teaching Hospital was allegedly tortured by provincial health minister Hisham Inamullah Khan and his guards.
The medical staff is still on complete boycott till to date and demanding the government to register a first information report (FIR) against KP Health Minister.
The KP health minister, on the other hand, claimed that Nausherwan Burki, the cousin of Prime Minister Imran Khan, was egged by Dr Ziauddin. When he reached the hospital, he, too, was attacked, he asserted, adding that he was saved by his bodyguards.
KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan also took the notice of the entire incident and has directed the concerned official to initiate an inquiry into the matter.
On social media a video has also been spreading showing Dr Ziauddin lying on a stretcher at a time when medical aid is being given to him.
