Money laundering case: Zardari to appear before NAB today
ISLAMABAD: Former president and leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has been summoned by the National Accountability Bureau today.
Country’s anti-graft watchdog has summoned Zardari in relation to the Harish and Company investigation, which is part of its ongoing probe in fictitious bank accounts case.
In the light of the NAB’s perspective, Harish and Company had taken a contract for water supply from the Special Initiative Department of Sindh but not a single work was done on the project.
Moreover, it was alleged by the anti-corruption watchdog that all such funds funds were utilized for meeting the expenses of Naudero House instead of implementing water supply contract in its true spirit.
Harish and Company was the front company to Park Lane Estate which led to a loss of Rs60 million to the national exchequer, said officials of probe body.
It is pertinent o mention here that Islamabad High Court has yesterday approved the request of Zardari and his sister Faryal in their pre-arrest bail in six different cases.
