Maryam meets Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat jail

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has voiced concern about rising inflation and difficulties being faced by the public, his daughter Maryam Nawaz said on Thursday.

In a Twitter message, Maryam said she met Nawaz Sharit at Kot Lakhpat jail today.

“He conveyed his love-filled salam to his workers and voiced concern over inflation and the difficulties being faced by people,” Maryam said.

The former premier is also saddened by loss of lives due to a suicide attack outside the Data Darbar in Lahore.

“May God have merch on Pakistan,” he prayed.

The meeting took place a day after the fomer three-time prime minister was moved back to Kot Lakhpat jail to complete his sentence after the expiry of his six-week bail on medical grounds.

Mr Sharif was taken to the jail in the form a a convoy.

In a second tweet, Maryam denounced the government for its possible deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
