Maryam doesn’t recognise Imran as PM, says govt will fall on its own
ISLAMABAD: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that the current government would fall on its own and that Imran was a ‘fake’ prime minister.
Speaking to media outside the Parliament House, Maryam said that the opposition did not need to do anything to this government.
“This government will fall, the opposition won’t need to do anything,” she said.
Maryam had arrived at the Parliament House to attend a PML-N parliamentary meeting. She said that this was the first time that she was at the parliament house.
“Democracy must reign supreme in the country,” she said.

In response to a question, Maryam said that she did not recognise Imran Khan as the country’s prime minister.
“He is a fake prime minister that has been brought to power,” she said. “He can’t lie to the public anymore and it is high time he should tell the truth.”
The statement from the PML-N leader comes a day after a united opposition press conference. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari invited opposition leaders at Zardari House for Iftar to devise a joint strategy to counter the government.
The opposition announced individual protests all over the country after Eid over the rising inflation and bad governance.
Joining Bilawal were PML-N leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, National Party’s (NP) Hasil Bizenjo, Qaumi Watan Party’s (QWP) Aftab Sherpao and other leaders were also present.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had said that people were paying the price for the controversial general elections 2018.
“We reject the sort of accountability being conducted in Pakistan,” he said. “Such political victimisation takes place only in dictatorships.”
