LHC forms new bench to hear Hamza Shahbaz’s bail plea
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has constituted a new member bench to hear the bail petition of Opposition Leader of the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz in a case accusing him of owning assets beyond his known means of income.
A two-member bench, comprising Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi and Justice Shahid Waheed Khan will hear the petitions of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader on June 3, Geo News reported.
On Tuesday, an LHC division bench refused to bail plea of Hamza Shahbaz after he said he does not trust the earlier two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) which was hearing three different cases against him under NAB’s grip.
He expressed mistrust in the bench after a media interview given by National Accountability Bureau chairman stirred controversy.
The judges decided not to hear the cases and sent the files to the Lahore High Court chief justice.
