Govt to extend all possible support for Sindh progress: minister
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar has underlined that the present Government is committed to extend all possible cooperation and support for progress and prosperity of Sindh province.
The minister was talking to Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday, according to a government press release.
Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, members Planning Commission and senior officials from the ministry were also present in the meeting.
The Minister said that Federal Government will cooperate with the provincial government in the development of the province as well as resolve the issues of provision of clean drinking water and improvement in transport system to provide relief to karachiites.
The minister called for devising a robust strategy and framework to permanently resolve the issue of water shortage in the cosmopolitan city.
During the meeting various projects and schemes proposed for next year’s PSDP came under discussion.
The schemes related to road infrastructure, energy, water resources, transport and municipal infrastructure in interior Sindh were deliberated upon.
Different ongoing schemes under existing package as well as new schemes and projects under Prime Minister Karachi Package were also discussed in the meeting.
