Favourites tag can’t win India and England the World Cup: Shakib
Bangladesh veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan believes that the favourite tag counts for nothing since the game is decided on the field.
“India and England are obviously favorites, but that doesn’t get you the crown. You need to do the hard work to win a tournament, Shakib told IANS.
“I think we have a genuine chance of winning the World Cup for first time, but keeping the format of the tournament in mind, we must look to play well consistently. If we can do that, we can definitely look at qualifying for the knockouts, the all-rounder added.
Shakib said that Bangladesh have a very balance side, and optimistic to clinch the trophy.
“I am a little worried about our bowling. We have the experience, have guys who have played 3 or 4 World Cups, he added.
