KARACHI: “It is my desire to see Bilawal Bhutto moving ahead on the same footprints that were followed by her mother Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (late)”, Pakistani legendary cricketer and the author of his newly launched book ‘Game Changer’ Shahid Afridi unearthed this yesterday during a TV show.

Afridi appeared as a guest at show of local news channel where he made interesting revelations about the stories narrated in his book.

Moreover, on a political point of view, Afridi when asked by the host that “It seems that you have a soft corner for Bilawal Bhutto?”

Cricketer positively replied and said that “It is my prayer for Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto that he may follow the same footsteps like her mother late Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.”

Praising former premier Benazir Bhutto, Afridi said “I had always paid immense respect to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. She was such a lady who always stood firm for the cause of democracy and her contribution are enormous for women especially in the province of Sindh.”

Cricketer explicating his views about former President Asif Ali Zardari said that “I don’t know what to say about Zardari Sahab.”

“It is the feeling of anyone’s heart that he expresses like or dislike towards someone but for me Zardari sahab is not in the list of those who are liked by me”,

Well, the anchor in a series of questions also asked the guest “We came to know that when you were at rift with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) at that time few people belonging to Bilawal approached you and tried to convince you to bargain and attend PPP rallies and in turn they wil for sure resolve all those fiery issues existing with the cricket body, but you were not of the view to do that.”

Responding to this Afridi said that “I never wanted to do such things for any reason that I will stand on stage during political gathering and rallies and added that in past also I had received many offers from different political parties but rejected”

Afridi further said that “many people tried their level best to resolve my matters with PCB but I refrained as I am a cricketer and I always desired to be with it keeping distance from the politics.”

In another question when the cricketer was asked that “What happened when you realized that Zardari sahab is using Bilawal by keeping him in front-line then you were unsatisfied with this and your perception changed a bit?”

Afridi replied that “It is my desire to see that Bilawal is going ahead in the same way just like her mother but I had noticed that Zardari sahab is taking him in its own way.”

I guess that if now also Bilawal goes along in the same line of direction the way his mother was then Pakistan Peoples Party can give a great comeback everywhere, added Afridi.
