Asad Umar likely to rejoin federal cabinet
ISLAMABAD: In a major breakthrough, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar has agreed to rejoin the federal cabinet.
The decision was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Asad Umar on Tuesday.
The meeting, according to sources, was part of government efforts to persuade Asad Uamr to join the cabinet again after his removal as Finance Minister.
Sources privy to the meeting revealed that Asad Umar would soon become part of Imran Khan’s cabinet.
In a major shakeup last month, PM Khan removed his most trusted aide Asad Umar as Finance Minister over his dismal performance and offered to accept any other portfolio.
Asad Umar, however, politely declined PM Khan’s offer to take charge of the energy ministry.
