UNDP launches translated versions of journalist’s handbook
KARACHI: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors -CPNE and the United Nations Development Programme – UNDP brought together Government stakeholders and civil society representatives for an educational seminar to discuss climate change, its impact and measures needed to cope with the associated challenges.
Taimur Talpur “Minister IT,Environment & Coastal Development Sindh” reaffirmed Government’s commitment to address the challenges emanating from climate change, a press release said.
The minister launched the translated versions of the Journalist’s handbook, which has been translated from English to local languages to guide the journalists on climate smart reporting.
The meeting of the subcommittee on Climate Change deliberated on exploring partnerships with the district press clubs to ensure climate change is included as a vital component of local reporting. A recommendation to utilise the Corporate Social Responsibility funds to support capacity building of journalists was also put forth.
