PM Imran Khan to address jalsa in South Waziristan
WANA: Prime Minister Imran Khan will address a public gathering at Wana in South Waziristan today (Wednesday).
This will be PM Khan’s fourth visit to tribal districts after taking power. The prime minister is also scheduled to address a jirga in Khan Makeen, Wana.
The FATA was a semi-autonomous tribal region that existed from 1947 until being merged with neighboring province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018.
It consisted of seven tribal agencies (districts) and six frontier regions, and were directly governed by the federal government.
It bordered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to the east and south, and Afghanistan’s provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Khost and Paktika to the west and north.
