Javed Afridi not happy with Pakistan’s World Cup 2019 squad
KARACHI: Javed Afridi, the owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) former champions, Peshawar Zalmi, is not happy for the Pakistani squad selection for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which will take place in England and Wales from May 30.
While talking to natcour.com, Javed Afridi said that he feels Pakistan won’t be able to make its place in the grand cricket event’s semi-finals.
Answering a query about Amir and Wahab, he said that experienced pacers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz will be missed in the World Cup.
“I fail to understand that why left-arm inform pacer Wahab Riaz, who performed well in PSL season 4 as well as the recently concluded Pakistan Cup, were not selected for World Cup 2019,” Javed Afridi said.
He added that England’s conditions suited Mohammad Amir. He said that Amir should be in the squad.
Answering another query about young speedster Mohammad Hasnain and opening batsman Abid Ali, the Peshawar Zalmi owner said that Hasnain is a good bowler but he does not have vast experience of international cricket.
Abid Ali’s inclusion in the squad is a plus point for Pakistan as he is a brave cricketer who plays positive cricket, Javed Afridi added further.
He also wished best of luck to the Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming World Cup.
