Court restrains NAB to arrest Hamza Shehbaz until further orders
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has restrained the National Accountability Bureau from arresting Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly on account of his alleged involvement in money laundering case until further orders of the court.
Justice Malik Bashir Ahmed Khan who was heading a two member bench while hearing the petition stopped NAB to arrest Hamza.
Further, the court directed Hamza to submit bail bonds worth Rs10 million.
Provincial police have ensured stringent security measures in the surroundings of LHC on today’s hearing.
More than 500 policemen have been deployed along with two superintendent police, six deputy superintendents and 10 inspectors will be on duty.
It is pertinent to mention here that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided the residence of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif in Model Town with an intent to arrest Hamza Shehbaz for his alleged involvement in money laundering.
Later the probe team returned back twice after Lahore High Court in its short order made it clear that an interim bail has been granted to Hamza till April 8.
