Toothache turns dreadful: Woman allegedly raped, murdered by doctors in Karachi’s hospital
Chief Minister Sindh takes notice of the incident
KARACHI: With the rising incidents of medical negligence at various hospitals another unfortunate incident of alleged rape and murder of woman patient witnessed who reached to the hospital after having toothache yesterday in the metropolis.
According to details, 26-year-old Asmat Junejo, a resident of Ibrahim Hyderi was at Sindh Government Hospital located in Korangi No. 5 area in Karachi for having toothache treatment but she was unaware that this will take her life forever.
Sources disclosed that four of the medical staff including concerned doctor have been allegedly involved in the gruesome rape and murder of the patient after the lady was drugged, left in an unconscious state, subjected to rape and then murdered after poisoned dose.
As per preliminary investigations the key accused is still at large and has been declared absconder while three of his accomplices whose identity revealed as Amir, Shahzaib, and Wali Muhammad have been apprehended.
Moreover, the arrested culprits were presented before the court of the Judicial Magistrate (District East) where the Judge sent all of them to jail on judicial remand.
It must be mentioned here that soon the incident was unearthed, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah showed anger over the incident and asked: “Tell me which elements are involved in the rape and murder of the patient? and added that Such incidents will not be tolerated at any cost”.
CM Sindh has ordered the police to register a first information report (FIR) of the alleged rape and murder of Asma and initiate in-depth investigations.
