Bushra Ansari raps for peace between India and Pakistan
We all knew Bushra Ansari could act really well but did you know that she could spit a few bars as well? Well, now you do!
The actress (and now rapper) has released a rap song which is a collaborative effort that involves her sisters too. The rap attempts to promote peace between India and Pakistan and do away with all the hatred between the two nations.
Bushra Ansari plays an Indian woman who shares a border wall with her Muslim neighbor (played by her sister Asma Abbas) from Pakistan. The lyrics to the rap are penned by Neelum Bashir, also a sister of Bushra Ansari.
The video shows the two cooking away, slicing vegetables while they discuss the problems faced by India and Pakistan. According to the raps, the two women are tired of the economic, political and other issues plaguing both countries.
They also deride the media in both countries that promotes war hysteria and hatred for personal gains. The two women then try to exchange a piece of clothing over the wall but are disappointed to see it’s covered with shards of glass.
Tensions soared between India and Pakistan last month after the Pulwama attack. More than 40 CRPF personnel were killed in the attack. New Delhi blamed Islamabad for sheltering the JeM, which claimed responsibility for the attack.
Islamabad denied the accusations and warned India from attacking it. On February 26, IAF jets intruded into Pakistani airspace and dropped payload in Balakot.
PAF shot down two Indian fighter jets the next day and captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Varnathan. Abhinandan was released two days later as a ‘peace gesture’ from Pakistan to India.
