ISLAMABAD: Will give the nation a very happy news in three weeks time, said Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Thursday.

“NAB will hand exemplary punishments to very influential figures,” said the prime minister to senior journalists. “After the influential are handed strict punishments, the small crooks will mend their ways on their own,” he added.

The prime minister said that till the elections were held in India, Pakistan was faced with a threat on its eastern border.

“Along with India, we are also strengthening our border with Afghanistan and Iran as well,” he said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that bureaucrats were not making decisions due to which the government was facing problems.

“They (bureaucrats) think that now that so many files have been opened, NAB does not have the strength to pursue action against them,” he said.

The prime minister lashed out at Maulana Fazalur Rahman and said that it was unfortunate that the nation trusted him and others like him in matters of religion.

He blamed previous governments for not implementing the National Action Plan, stating that all political parties in Pakistan had agreed on the plan.

“After the Pulwama attack, intelligence reports indicate that incidents of terrorism will increase in Balochistan,” he said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the UAE had not agreed to supply Pakistan oil on deferred payments.

“We did request the UAE government to do so,” he said.
