PM Imran Khan announces new e-visa policy to boost tourism economy

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled the new e-visa regime, calling the initiative as first step toward his goal of making Naya Pakistan.

Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said issuing of online visa is a major step towards bringing real change as it will open the country to the outside world. Imran Khan it also shows that Pakistan is a peaceful and stable country and open to the world for business and tourism.

He said the mindset regarding the allowing of foreigners into the country needs to be changed in order to portray a positive image of Pakistan to the world.

The Prime Minister said the beautiful region of Gilgit Baltistan of Pakistan is twice the size of Switzerland and there are still many unexplored areas in the area.

Khan said Pakistan is a paradise for tourists. “The country is opening new doors for the world and tourism task force is exploring new venues for the tourists.”

“Pakistan is safer than ever. We are trying to establish friendly relations with more and more nations,” PM Khan said.

Khan said Pakistan wants to have good relation India.

“We might have a bit of trouble doing that with India until their elections during which they thrive on politics of hate. But we look forward to smoother relations with India also after their elections, and with all our neighbors too.”
