Nawaz released from Kot Lakhpat Jail, receives warm welcome at Jati Umra
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and ousted premier Nawaz Sharif was released from Kot Lakhpat jail Tuesday night subsequent to suspension of his sentence for 6 weeks by the Supreme Court in Al-Azizia reference.
PML-N senior leader Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry received Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat Jail after presenting the court orders to the jail administration where the party workers and supporters amid chanting slogans showered flower petals the moment Nawaz came out of the jail.
Nawaz’s family members gave him a warm welcome at his residence in Jati Umra soon after he reached home from jail.
It must be mentioned here that the apex court granted bail to Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds which limits him to six weeks to get treatment from anywhere as per his choice within the country.
The court also ordered the former premier to submit two bail bonds amounting to Rs5 million each.
Nawaz has been barred to move abroad for medical treatment.
