Maryam requests for prayers on the eve of Nawaz Sharif’s bail hearing
ISLAMABAD: PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has requested her party’s supporters and lovers to pray for former Nawaz Sharif on the eve of his bail hearing in the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court is set to hear Sharif’s bail plea on health grounds.
Security measures that have been taken ahead of the hearing — to be held tomorrow — of a bail petition filed by former premier Nawaz Sharif.
A three-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Chef Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi — will take up the appeal of Nawaz Sharif against a Feb 25 Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision to turn down bail on medical grounds.
“Tomorrow is bail hearing. I earnestly request all MNS lovers & supporters to take a moment to connect with ALLAH SWT & pray for MNS. Never underestimate the power of a heartfelt prayer. This is the best we can do for him tonight. JazakAllah,” Maryam tweeted.
In another tweet, she recalled why her father chose to serve his sentence at Kot Lakhpat instead of Adiala prison in Rawalpindi.
“You know, when MNS was taken to Kotlakhpat jail & I went to see him, I told him he looked better compared to when we were at Adiyala, he said ‘yes, bcoz this time I don’t have you to worry about. I can take it all upon myself but can’t see you suffer’,” she said.
