Is IAF pilot Abhinandan on Tinder?

A profile doing the rounds on Tinder features the picture of Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varnathan and even features his name.

However, it’s obvious the profile is a fake one as Abhinandan, who was released by Pakistani authorities last week and allowed to go to India, appeared on the Tinder list of a Karachiite.

Abhinandan Varnathan’s MiG Bison aircraft was shot down by Squadron Leader Hasan Siddiqui after the PAF shot down two IA fighter jets on February 27.

The Pakistan Air Force fighter jets struck targets inside India in response to the IAF’s intrusion into Pakistani airspace a day earlier.

Pakistan had warned India that it would respond, which it did the following day.

“You were not able to surprise us, we have not been surprised,” said DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor. “We will now surprise you. Get ready for our surprise.”

Abhinandan Varnathan was released by Pakistani authorities after being held captive for 68 hours. Prime Minister Imran Khan announced his release, terming it as a ‘peace gesture’ towards India.
