Entire PSL 2020 to be played in Pakistan: PM Khan
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday announced that the entire Pakistan Super League PSL 2020 will be played in Pakistan.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony of online visa issuance, PM Khan said that he is confident that all the matches of PSL-5 will be held in Pakistan.
All the matches of the inaugural season of the PSL were played in the UAE in 2016. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board managed to host the final of the PSL 2017 at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, but not all international stars were willing to travel to the country.
PCB was looking revive international cricket in the country after the unfortunate terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in 2009.
The cricket board saw hosting PSL matches in Pakistan as a source that could pave way for international cricket in Pakistan.
In the third edition of PSL, the board decided to host two play-off matches and the all-important final of the league in Lahore and Karachi respectively, which proved to be a huge success.
