A terror attack that martyred about 40 CRPF troopers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district has ignited serious bilateral consequences between India and Pakistan. Many celebrities, including Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, and Janhvi Kapoor lamented the tragic incident and paid their grievances for the martyrs.

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi on Friday said she and her husband, lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar, have decided not to attend Kaifi Azmi’s birth centenary celebrations in Karachi.

“@Javedakhtarjadu and I were invited for a 2-day event celebrating Kaifi’s Centenary and were truly looking forward to it. I appreciate that our hosts the Karachi Arts Council mutually agreed to cancel the event at the nth hour in the wake of Pulwama attack,” Azmi posted on Twitter.

Calling off the success party of her film Marnikarnika, Kangna Ranaut condemned the terror attacks in anti-Pakistan remarks

Kangana said that Pakistan has not only violated India’s security but also attacked their dignity by openly threatening and humiliating them. The actress urged for decisive actions.
“Anyone who lectures about non-violence and peace at this time should be painted black, put on a donkey and slapped by everyone on the streets”, the actress lashed out in her comments.
She also criticized Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar for accepting the invitation of a Karachi-based event in the first place.

Janhvi Kapoor condemned the incident by posting a photo of a newspaper article, claiming that it was a “propagandist article that is celebrating this terrorist attack as a fight for freedom.”

She added “It’s tragic and irresponsible that the truths of such a condemnable act are being distorted by the media to suit their political agendas. These men have been robbed of not just their lives but also the respect that they deserve as protectors of a nation. Let’s pray for the souls of our brave men and for the strength of their families. #jaihind”

Speaking about the same, Sara reportedly stated that the Pulwama attack is heartbreaking and that her heart goes out for the brave jawans of our country. She also sent in her prayers for the families of the martyrs.

Indian reports stated that Actor Amitabh Bachchan will be donating Rs 5 lakh each to the families of 40 CRPF martyrs who died in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

His spokesperson confirmed the news, saying: “Yes, Mr Bachchan will be giving Rs 5 lakh to each of the martyr’s families and is currently finding out the correct process to do so.”

On February 14, 2019, Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for the attack which had a Jaish suicide bomber ramming a vehicle, loaded with 100 kg of explosives, into a bus carrying CRPF personnel in the district.
