ISSF World Cup Shooting in India: Pak shooters denied visas
NEW DELHI: A three-member Pakistan squad denied visas for participation in the ISSF World Cup Shooting, which will commence from February 21, (Thursday) in New Delhi.
Reports quoted an official from Pakistan’s national shooting federation saying that the Indian HC in Islamabad denied visas for the squad, forcing their withdrawal from the competition.
“We were supposed to fly out by Wednesday morning as the championship begins from Thursday, but we were not issued visas so the visit is as good as off,” Pakistan’s National Rifle Shooting Federation President Razi Ahmed was quoted.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan had applied visas for the two shooters namely GM Bashir and Khalil Ahmed and a manager.
