Shahid Afridi will be missed this time but we wish him all the best, says Navaid Rasheed, manager Karachi Kings in an exclusive interview with The National Courier.

Q: What preparations have been made for PSL-4?

NR: Preparations for PSL 4 are in full swing. Management is working day and night to bring something revolutionary to the cricket fans around the world. Just like every year, you will see something extraordinary from Karachi Kings.

Q: Is Kings’ overseas players agreeing to visit Pakistan?

NR: It brings me great pleasure to say that Kings’ overseas players have agreed to visit Pakistan including renowned T20 specialist batsmen Kiwis’ Colin Munro and South African Colin Ingram.

Q: Will Kings’ miss ‘Boom Boom’ in the upcoming season?

NR: Yes, off course Shahid Afridi has been part of Karachi Kings for PSL-3 and surely his absence will be missed. However, we wish him the best of luck on his new journey.

Q: Are you satisfied with team’s combination this year?

NR: Yes, team combination is very good. I hoped that Karachi Kings has the ability to clinch PSL-4 title as he termed the team as “most exciting Kings’ squad ever.”

Q: PSL’s eight matches in Pakistan. What your opinion about the entire league played in Pakistan?

NR: That is the “dream” and what all of us involved in PSL want to accomplish. PSL without being played in Pakistan has emerged as such a strong entity, just imagine, if the league comes to Pakistan, the magnitude of growth will be immense. Our nation is waiting for this to happen & I hope that the eight matches being played in Pakistan is just another step to accomplish the dream.

Q: How you differentiate PSL from others league?

NR: PSL is one of the fastest growing leagues in the world. Even though it is played at a neutral venue, but still it has emerged as one of the biggest leagues in the world.

Q: Any message for Kings’ fans?

NR: Karachi Kings is not just a franchise or a sports team. It is a platform for all of our fans to connect and feel themselves being part of a family. I urge the Kings’ family to support Karachi Kings in this new journey of PSL 4, we are trying to clinch title.
