Ex-FM Khar blasts Afghan President for commenting on Pakistan’s internal matter
ISLAMABAD: Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday lashed out at Afghan President Ashraf Ghani for commenting on an “internal matter” of Pakistan.
Her reaction came in response to Ashraf Ghani’s tweets regarding recent protests held by the Pashtun Tahuffuz Movement (PTM) in the aftermath of death of Professor Arman Luni.
“The Afghan government has serious concerns about the violence perpetrated against peaceful protestors and civil activists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan,” Ghani wrote.
“We believe it is the moral responsibility of every government to support civil activities that take a stand against the terrorism and extremism that plagues and threatens our region and collective security. Otherwise there could be long-standing negative consequences,” he said.
Taking exception to Ghani’s public comments, the former foreign minister said that this would only worsen situation not help it.
“Sad @ashrafghani would think it appropriate to comment on what is clearly an internal matter for Pak. Baloch, Pashtun, Saraiki, Punjabi & Sindhi r Pakistanis and we certainly need to fix many things but am sure u know that ur comments can only worsen situation not help it,” Khar said.
“Am quite sure as Pres of Afghanistan it must never be ur intention to worsen a situation in Pak. We will all be well served to ‘concern’ ourselves with matters within our own borders. Our people will also be better served if we concentrate on fixing wrongs within our borders,” she added.
