Ex-army chief Raheel Sharif calls on Gen Bajwa at GHQ
RAWALPINDI: Former army boss and the incumbent Commander-In-Chief of Islamic Alliance against Terrorism General Raheel Sharif called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters yesterday, said ISPR press statement.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting both commanders stressed light on the matters of mutual interest including regional peace and stability.
COAS appreciated the efforts of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) for maintaining regional peace, added the ISPR.
A delegation of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition led by Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif arrived in Islamabad late Sunday.
Former army chief General Raheel Sharif assumed his duties as the chief of 39-nation Islamic military coalition formed to combat terrorism in 2017.
According to sources, it is learnt here that during their two-day visit, the delegates of the Islamic military coalition will also meet the top civil and military leadership.
