Aleem Khan to be produced in anti-graft court
PTI leader Aleem Khan, who stepped down as senior Punjab’s minister following his arrest in a case of assets beyond income, will be presented before an accountability court on Thursday.
Khan was taken into custody shortly after he came to the NAB‘s office in Lahore as part of investigations regarding his offshore companies and his source of income.
According to a NAB spokesperson, the arrest was made in light of the Panama scandal investigation. Aleem Khan had misused his authority as a lawmaker for his Parkview Housing Society, the spokesman said.
The former Punjab minister is also accused of forming a company to acquire 1,500 Kanals in Lahore and its outskirts.
The accountability bureau spokesperson said Aleem had failed to satisfy investigators about the land’s acquisition.
