Two militants involved in ex-PM son’s kidnapping killed in CTD raid
FAISALABAD: Two militants suspected of involvement in the 2013 kidnapping of former premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son were killed in a raid carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department in Faisalabad on Monday night, a CTD spokesperson said.
The suspects were identified as Adeel and Usman.
They were allegedly involved in the kidnapping of Ali Haider Gilani, a US citizen, and other serious criminal acts.
Ali Haider Gilani who was kidnapped by militants during an election rally in 2013 was rescued in Afghanistan, in 2016
The suspects were also accused of killing two policemen in Faisalabad’s D ground, the spokesperson added.
According to a spokesman of by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), suicide jackets, weapons and bombs were recovered from the terrorists.
