Sahiwal massacre: Victims’ family refuses take part in identification parade
LAHORE: The family of the Sahiwal killings’ victims refused to appear before the JIT on Wednesday to take part in the identification parade.
The local magistrate and JIT members arrived at 10:00 am at the jail where the identification parade was to take place.
However, Jalil, the brother of Khalil, who was gunned down by CTD officials with his wife and daughter, refused to appear before the JIT.
In a telephonic conversation with a private channel, Jalil said that his family would not appear before the JIT.
‘We have given our recommendations to the Senate Standing Committee on Interior,” he said. “We will only appear before a judicial commission.
Four people including two women were killed after officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) opened fire on a car, more than a week ago.
According to CTD officials, the dead suspects were kidnappers and had opened fire on police from inside the vehicle at Qadirabad area of Sahiwal district.
Police retaliated with fire and killed four people. There were three children were inside the car who remained unhurt.
