PPP leaders Arbab, Asma Alamgir indicted in corruption reference
Peshawar: An Accountability Court (AC) of Peshawar today has indicted PPP leaders and former minister for communications Arbab Alamgir and his wife former MNA Asma Alamgir in a reference pertaining to corruption.
According to details, NAB has filed a reference against both husband and wife of around Rs 332.1 million related to corruption.
Accountability Judge Muhammad Ishtiaq heard the case today. Court after hearing the arguments of respondents in the case indicted Arbab and Asma Alamgir and summoned 4 witnesses on January 24.
Earlier, PPP supporters along with some party leaders tried to enter the premises of court. Following to which exchange of heated arguments between police and the workers also witnessed.
Arbab Alamgir while talking to media persons after the hearing said that our properties were of our ancestors and 200- year-old and added that he had also informed the anti-graft watchdog body about this.
On the other hand, Asma Alamgir while declaring NAB “joke ” during her chat with media men said that references were filed against them but no reference has been filed against former K-P Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and demanded that concerned authorities must put Khattak’s name in no-fly list.
