Need to increase pace of CPEC projects: Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday stressed light in view of rapidly completing work on different projects working under the umbrella of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it is certainly in the larger interest of Pakistan and economic growth as well.
PM was chairing a meeting for reviewing the current progress on CPEC projects where he said that the sooner the projects are completed the faster we will be in a position to create multiple socio-economic opportunities.
During the meeting, projects which were reviewed were in the areas of industrial development, ML-1 project, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), agriculture development, infrastructure development and Gwadar development.
The prime minister said Pakistan could greatly benefit from Chinese experience of steering its people from poverty. He said China-Pakistan cooperation in industrial development and agriculture sector would help realize the country’s potential in these sectors.
The meeting also decided to form a CPEC Business Advisory Council.
