Govt spokesperson said economy is in dire straits: Shahid Khaqan
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Thursday that the government’s own spokesperson Farrukh Saleem admitted that the country’s economy was in dire straits.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was holding a press conference with other senior leaders of the PML-N where he said that Mr Saleem had admitted that the government was incapable of solving the financial issues of the country.
He said that Saleem’s comments had stirred agitation in the nation and that his words could be taken as proof. He said that this was the main reason that the incapable government was taking more loans rather than solving the nation’s problems.
“Should we trust the government’s spokesman or the other ministers,” he said.
He said that the incumbent government had raised the price of dollars yet the country’s exports had not risen.
Khaqan said that Imran Khan always forgets that he is the country’s prime minister.
He said that the country’s opposition was united over the fundamental issues of the masses.
