Celebratory firing injures 18 in Karachi
KARACHI: In the wave of new year festivities, at least 18 people including women and children, were injured in various parts of Karachi as a result of aerial firing yesterday.
In an explicit violation of orders issued by the Sindh government, citizens welcomed the start of the new year via aerial firing in different areas of Defence, Nazimabad, Liaqatabad, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Lyari and Rizvia Society etc.
Following to this, the wounded were shifted to various hospitals for treatment.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah has given directives to the police to take strict action against those resorting to aerial firing and harassing people.
Every year, a large number of people lost their lives and faces serious injuries on account of aerial firing all over the country.
