PM gives ‘green signal’ on giving PAC chairmanship to Shahbaz Sharif
Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi today announced in the National Assembly that Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken decision to let the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) headed by the Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif. Addressing the session of National Assembly, Qureshi said that “We met Prime Minister Imran Khan today on the issue of PAC chairmanship and had offered the opposition to nominate any person other than Shahbaz Sharif but they did not agree.
FM further said that “Imran Khan has reviewed his decision and if Shahbaz Sharif wants to head the PAC, the government will not come in its way.”
This decision tends to be a major development over the deadlock between the ruling government and the opposition on the issue of chairmanship of PAC.
